Mental illness is a medical condition that disrupts a person’s thinking, feeling, mood, ability to relate to others and daily functioning. One in five families has a member with a diagnosable mental illness.The San Rafael Parish Mental Health Ministry partners with the Diocese of San Diego to offer support for families in the parish that are experiencing mental health challenges. By interfacing with county, local non-profit, and private mental health providers, Catholic families will be introduced to healing professionals and services able to facilitate their healing journeys.
Prayerfully supported by parish lay leaders, and receiving professional care, families strive for wholeness and an end to the stigma that still endures when mental health is challenged.

NORTH COUNTY PARKINSON’S GROUP | Free monthly meetings for people with Parkinson’s and their care partners are held the first Monday of every month at 10:00 AM in the Parish Hall at San Rafael. For additional information please contact Carol at: [email protected].
TREMBLE CLEFS | Tremble Clefs, the free weekly Parkinson’s Voice Therapy and Singing Group will resume in-person meetings from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 NOON every Wednesday in the Parish Hall at San Rafael. Tremble Clefs was created over 20 years ago to help people with Parkinson’s with their speech volume, breath control, lung expansion, swallowing and voice intonation. There is no cost to attend. People with Parkinson’s and their caregivers are encouraged to join in on the fun. You don’t have to be able to read music and you don’t have to be able to carry a tune. Simply attend and enjoy the voice lessons as well as the singing. Come learn, share and meet the other involved Parkinson’s persons. Treble Clefs San DiegoDEPRESSION/BIPOLAR SUPPORT GROUP | The DBSA (the Depression Bipolar Support Alliance) support group meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday evenings each month at San Rafael Parish in Meeting Rooms A & B in our Pastoral Center Building.
