The Traditional Choir sings at the Sunday 9:00 a.m. Mass, using traditional and contemporary styles to lead the congregation in prayerful song. Rehearsals take place on Wednesday evenings from 7:30-9:00 p.m., (September through June), in the Music Room. All are welcome to join! Although the ability to read music is most helpful, it is not mandatory.
Our two Contemporary Choirs sing at either the 10:30 or 12:00 Noon Sunday Masses throughout the year. They lead the congregation in prayerful and spirited contemporary and folk music. Rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings from 6:45-8:00 p.m. in the Music Room. New singers & instrumentalists are most welcome to join!
Members of the parish who donate their time to sing for funerals and memorial services offered at San Rafael Parish when requested by families. Rehearsals are held one hour prior to each service. All are welcome to join.

The Handbell Choir begins their rehearsals in September. If you would like to “ring” with them, you are most welcome. Again, note-reading is extremely helpful, but not absolutely necessary. The Handbell Choir routinely rehearses on Sunday afternoons in the church sanctuary and performs in various concerts and liturgies throughout the liturgical year.

YOU ARE INVITED | San Rafael’s Traditional Choir will perform this beautiful contemporary cantata, Wondrous Love, on Palm Sunday, March 25, at 4:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary. This very memorable work by composer Lloyd Larson is based on the meaningful and very touching sacred hymn, “What Wondrous Love” (Original Melody by William Walker from The Southern Harmony, 1835). This musical offering provides an excellent way to enter into the events of Holy Week, leading to the Passion & Death of Our Lord. (No offering is necessary – just your presence!)
