Bible Study

“LIFE AFTER DEATH: PURITY AND JOY” | What occurs at the time of death and immediately following it? Our Catholic faith has the answers! We will reflect on what the Church teaches about the experience and meaning of death, our immediate judgment after dying, the after-death purification that occurs in order to perfect us, the various post-mortem realms that Scripture mentions, and the nature of our intermediate existence between physical death and our resurrection. Come and learn the wisdom of Christ regarding this important topic.

There are two choices each week (same class):

Monday evenings, starting August 1st at 6:30 p.m. in rooms H & I

OR Wednesday mornings, starting August 3rd at 9:30 a.m. in rooms H & I

There is no registration, just come join us, and no cost (a free will offering can be made if desired). We look forward to seeing you there!!! Come and learn all about the life off the saints and holy souls!

KNOW YOUR SCRIPTURES BIBLE STUDY WITH FR. NIRU | Fr. Niru’s Bible Study on the Wisdom books of the Bible will take a break over the summer and will resume in September.  Classes will be held on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-7:45 p.m. and Thursday mornings from 9:45-11:00 a.m. in Meeting Rooms H & I in our Pastoral Center Building.  You may attend on either of those days.  Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to know your Scriptures and thus grow in your Catholic Faith! Please watch the parish bulletin and this website for news on the September start date.

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION

If you or someone you know (spouse, child, friend, co-worker, etc;) is:

  • A non-Christian who is interested in learning about Catholicism,
  • A non-Catholic Christian who wants to learn more about Catholicism,
  • A baptized adult Catholic who never received your First Communion and/or Confirmation,
  • A Catholic getting married or asked to be a sponsor who still needs their Confirmation

…then the RCIA program is for you!

Come join us to have your questions answered, your knowledge of Christ and His Church strengthened, and, if you so choose, to receive your sacraments.  RCIA stands for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and is the means by which people learn more about the Catholic faith and to join the Catholic faith or complete their sacraments.

We meet Tuesday nights at 6:30 p.m. in Classroom 5 in the Parish Hall Building (you may always bring a guest with you) and ask you to make a commitment to attend the 9:00 a.m. Mass here at San Rafael.  There is no cost and no pressure, come check us out and see how God is speaking to you.

If interested, please contact Chris O’Donnell at codonnell@sanrafaelparish.org to sign up and get more information. We plan to begin in early to mid-August so sign up soon!
